Local insurance broker advice to help growing
numbers of Home Based Businesses
Local insurance broker Towergate Risk Solutions today advises
the growing number of home based business to ensure they have
adequate insurance cover to protect against unexpected
risk.
This follows new research carried out by Enterprise Nation, the
UK’s largest website for home based business, which revealed that
more than five million people are working from home after finishing
their day job. According to its latest Home Business Report,
there are also more than 2.5 million businesses operating from
homes across the UK (an increase of 16% over the past 12
months).

“This research clearly demonstrates that the current economic
climate is encouraging more people to set up their own business as
a way of taking control of their own lives. Unfortunately
many people take home business insurance for granted thinking that
their traditional buildings and contents insurance will provide
cover for their business. Home business owners need to ensure that
they are fully covered for every eventuality including loss of
stock through to an employee fatality which may make them and their
business liable.
Home based business owners should speak with a good local broker
who will be able to deal with all aspects of home insurance and
pull a programme of cover together which means the business is not
exposed to any unnecessary risk."
